Baby Munchkin Boots Pattern :)

Published August 23, 2011 by doodlebumpkin

Hey everyone! I was inspired by making a cute little Munchkin Hat and decided to make some matching booties. These booties are very simple to make. This pattern is a DoodleBumpkin original. You can purchase the finished booties in my etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/79831620/baby-boy-booties-newborn-12-months-blue They are available in pink/brown and blue/brown. Here is the pattern:

NOTES:

*Use an H hook.

*The booties are worked from the toes up, in one piece.

Make Two

Row 1: ch 3, 6 hdc In 3rd ch from hook. (6 sts)

Row 2:  2 hdc in each of the next 6 sts. (12 sts)

Rows 3-7: 1 hdc in each of the next 12 sts. (12 sts)

Rows 8-14: 1 hdc in each of the next 10 sts, leaving 2 un-worked. Turn, ch one and continue.

Then turn the slipper inside out to slip stitch up the back.

Rows 15-16: Join the yarn at the seam you just stitched up. Ch 1, sc in every stitch around.

Finish off and weave in ends.

  • After I slip stitch the back closed (I think that is what you meant when you said “turn inside out and slip stitch up the back”) do I cut the yarn and tie that off then do rows 15-16 around the rim? I am not clear on the instructions after I turn the slipper inside out. Thank you so much for the pattern and your help in completing it.

  • Hi! Can you tell me what size these booties are? I’m looking to make some for my 12 month old daughter…if these aren’t going to fit her, can you give me instructions on how to make them bigger? thanks!

    • Hi there! Sorry I’ve taken so long to reply. I hardly have time to get on here anymore. These booties will only fit up to 3 months. To make them bigger simply add more rows before you start on the opening for the foot. That will make the slipper longer but the width will remain the same. Her foot should fit with that width, it should be about 1 inch wide. If you need it wider simply add an extra stitch in your foundation circle. I hope this helps. :)
